“Limbunan,” hailed by critics at the recently concluded Venice Film Festival as exceptionally artistic, depicts Moro nuptial practices. It shows members of a Maguindanaoan family as they prepare their 16-year-old sibling Ayesha for her wedding to a man she barely knows. The movie, which stars among others Techie Agbayani, would provide the audience a glimpse of the Maguindanao tradition of isolating a bride-to-be as she prepares herself for the big event. Aside from Agbayani, the Limbunan cast also includes Joem Bascon, Jea Lyka Cinco and this city’s very own Jamie Unte and Mayka Lintongan. On November 12, Limbunan will again be screened outside the Philippines, this time in Germany.
